JOURNAL CONTENT

1. Name of Journal

The official journal title is Clinical and Experimental Emergency Medicine (CEEM). The abbreviation of ISO is Clin Exp Emerg Med.

2. Website

The URL of the official journal website is https://www.ceemjournal.org/. The CEEM managing team endeavors to make a good website. The CEEM website demonstrates that care has been taken to ensure high ethical and professional standards. It does not contain any misleading information, including any attempt to mimic another journal/publisher’s site.

3. Journal Schedule

CEEM is published four times a year (on the last day of March, June, September, and December).

4. Archiving

The full text of CEEM has been archived in PubMed Central (PMC; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/journals/3081/), Europe PMC (https://europepmc.org/journals/3061/), and National Library of Korea (https://www.nl.go.kr/) from the 1st volume, 2014. CEEM provides the electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content in the event the journal is no longer published by archiving in PMC.

5. Copyright

Copyright to all published materials is owned by the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine. All authors must sign and submit the Transfer of Copyright Agreement when the paper is accepted for publication. Permission must be obtained from the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine for any commercial use of the materials. 6. Licensing

To use the tables or figures of CEEM in other journals, books or media for scholarly and/or educational purposes, the process of permission request to the publisher of CEEM is not necessary. All contents of the journal are available immediately upon publication without an embargo period. Licensing information is indicated on all published papers (HTML and PDF) and on the CEEM website.

JOURNAL PRACTICES

7. Publication Ethics and Related Editorial Policies

CEEM follows the Guideline of COPE (https://publicationethics.org), Recommendations of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (https://www.icmje.org/recommendations), and Good Publication Practice Guidelines for Medical Journals of the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (https://kamje.or.kr).

Our publication ethics are displayed on the Research and Publication Ethics tab (https://www.ceemjournal.org/authors/ethics.php) of the journal website.

The Editorial Board of CEEM carefully examines whether all submitted manuscripts abide by the ethical guidelines of ICMJE and COPE. The published articles should include the statements of conflict of interest, author's contribution, Institutional Review Board, informed consent, and human/animal rights.

When the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as a redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fabricated data, changes in authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, an ethical problem discovered with the submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and other issues, the resolving process will follow the flowchart provided by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The Editorial Board of CEEM will discuss the suspected cases and reach a decision. CEEM will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.

8. Peer Review

CEEM has an online submission and peer review system at https://submit.ceemjournal.org/.

All papers, including those invited by the editor, are subject to peer review. A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript does not fit the aims and scope of the journal or does not adhere to the Instructions to Authors, it may be returned to the author immediately after receipt and without a review. Before reviewing, all submitted manuscripts are inspected by Similarity Check, a plagiarism-screening tool powered by iThenticate (https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check/).

CEEM uses a double-blind peer-review process: the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa. Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by the editors, as well as two to three peer reviewers who are experts in the submitted subject matter and the peer reviewers will make suggestions to the editor(s). CEEM’s average turnaround time from submission to first decision is 4 weeks. The editor is responsible for the final decision whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.

More information on the review process is available in the Instruction to Authors section 5 and 6 (https://www.ceemjournal.org/authors/authors.php#sec5).

9. Access

CEEM is an open access journal. A free full-text service, both in XML and PDF formats, is available immediately upon publication without an embargo period.

In addition, we declare that these principles acknowledge the responsibility of publishers and editors in promoting accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusivity in all aspects of publication. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, and should not be influenced by the authors' nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion.
